A Turret camera has a ball-joint design that provides a comprehensive view over a large area. Most cameras feature 8 megapixel 4k technology. A Turret camera is also referred to as an EXIR or Turret camera. There are both indoor and outdoor variants of the Turret camera. Most cameras have an IR(infrared) power LED. This gives the cameras a wide and distant beam of IR light and very good visibility in dark light situations. So a Turret camera gives very good camera visibility in the light as well as in the dark!
Turret or dome camera?
The difference between a Turret camera and a Dome camera are the eyelets that give the Turret its distinctive look.
The advantage of this is that you don't have to do any maintenance on it as you do with a Dome.
On the dome of a dome camera, dirt or water can collect, causing white spots in the image. We call this IR reflections.
